Public Policy Economist (AI Training)

We're looking for economists with public policy experience to help shape how AI understands and communicates economic reasoning. Your expertise will directly influence the quality of AI-generated policy analysis - making a real impact on how the next generation of AI models approaches regulation, welfare policy, and applied economics.

What You'll Do

• Review and evaluate AI-generated public policy questions, analyses, and explanations used in AI training
• Assess economic reasoning across topics such as regulation, welfare programs, fiscal policy, and public goods
• Provide structured, detailed feedback to improve the clarity, rigor, and real-world relevance of AI outputs
• Apply your applied economics experience to validate scenarios, arguments, and policy conclusions
• Work independently and asynchronously on your own schedule

Who You Are

• 3+ years of experience working or teaching in public economics, applied economics, or policy analysis
• Strong command of economic theory and policy tradeoffs
• Skilled at critically evaluating written economic arguments and recommendations
• Clear and precise written communicator - comfortable providing detailed, actionable feedback
• Self-motivated and reliable working independently in a remote environment

Nice to Have

• Graduate degree in Economics, Public Policy, or a related field
• Professional experience in government agencies, think tanks, or policy research organizations
• Familiarity with AI systems or content evaluation workflows
