Job Description

Job Title: Medical Collector- Hospital/ Facilities

Industry: Healthcare

Location (City, State): 100% Remote (Must reside in approved states- AL, AZ, AR, CO, FL, GA, ID, IL, IN, KS, KY, ME, MD, MA, MI, MN, MS, MO, NV, NM, NC, OH, OK, PA, SC, TN, TX, VT, VA, WV, WI, UT)

Compensation: $20-22/HR

Benefits: This position is eligible for medical, dental, vision, and 401(k).

Work Schedule: Monday–Friday, typically 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM EST (flexible scheduling available)

Addison Group is hiring on behalf of our client, a leading healthcare revenue cycle organization that partners with hospitals nationwide to resolve complex and denied claims. Their team focuses on helping providers recover revenue, reduce aging receivables, and navigate payer challenges through a combination of technology, analytics, and industry expertise.

Job Description:

The role is responsible for managing denied and underpaid claims, conducting detailed research, and driving resolution through payer follow-up and appeals. This role requires a strong understanding of Facility collections, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a remote, metrics-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Investigate claim denials to determine root causes and identify appropriate resolution strategies
  • Perform insurance follow-up with commercial and government payers to secure reimbursement
  • Prepare and submit detailed appeals with supporting documentation
  • Track and document all account activity within internal and client systems
  • Monitor filing deadlines to ensure timely claim processing and payment recovery
  • Identify denial patterns and communicate trends or improvement opportunities to leadership
  • Escalate complex accounts as needed to ensure timely resolution
  • Meet daily productivity expectations (30–45 accounts per day) and quality benchmarks

Qualifications:

  • 1+ years of accounts receivable or medical collections experience required
  • Strong background in hospital (UB-04) collections
  • Recent experience with Epic (within the last 2 years) is required
  • Proven ability to manage insurance follow-up, denials, and appeals
  • Knowledge of commercial insurance, Medicare/Medicaid, and other payer guidelines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, remote environment
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
